.....and I could not be happier. Two day delivery to Hawaii, packed perfectly and works like it should (Canon 17mm TS/E). Plus Adorama had the best price for the lens anywhere online. The UPS guy said he rarely sees things packed as well (I opened the box in the depot in case of hidden damage...been there done that with a private party.)

Have purchased all of my other big stuff from B & H so this was a step for me.:)

Thanks Adorama.

I've had nothing but great experiences with Adorama as well. I switch between them and B&H...sometimes one has a slightly better price than the other. Both are great companies to deal with.

I use to buy from Adorama and B&H, Since an instance where Adorama went out of their way to save me money, They will always be my first choice and I'll only go to B&H if it's a product that Adorama doesn't carry. 13 orders, including a 7D and 5D mkIII, Never a problem

Adorama and B&H are great.

Killer lens BTW.

I've purchased some small stuff from Adorama years ago and was happy then as well.

Nice to have this lens back in my kit. I've missed it!

I've bought from both Adorama and B&H. Adorama's new VIP program which extends the warranty means that if prices are the same, I'll generally go with Adorama.

They're both excellent, I'd give the edge to Adorama for POTN members only because Helen takes good care of us here. Her proactive attitude has been very helpful to a number of people here on POTN.

That was the push that made me pull the trigger. This is a grey market lens but Adorama will stand by it with their own guarantee. Didn't hurt that it was several hundred dollars cheaper than anyone else that matters.

That's good to know Ron - I've been looking at a gray market lens, the savings is quite a bit.

Congrats on the new glass. Ron, have you been over to see the lava flows lately? We flew out January 2012 and missed the flows....we are thinking about flying back 2014 Jan to see if I can capture a few flows....not to mention the great island weather. We stay in Kona though. We've been to your island three times and absolutely love it.

Canon S100 and Canon 7D, Canon 28-300L 3.5/5.6 IS, Canon 70-200L 2.8 non IS, Canon 10-22 I'll give it a lil "l", Canon 50 1.8, LEE 10X Filter, Benro Travel Angel A-169....REI back pack, hiking boots and a photogenic black labrador

I'm real happy with the price and since Adorama will back it up it makes no difference to me if it it's gray or not. Still the same lens.

My first 17mm TS-E was the 'North American' version and it cost an arm and a leg...this one only cost a leg.

We've been down to the lava viewing area near Kalapana but all you can see are some glows in the distance. I tried to use a 100-400 with a 2X III and it helped but it was still too far away.

The Kalapana Cultural Tours (external link) will take you on a hike across the lava (several miles) in the wee hours of the morning where you can literally poke the lava with a stick. I've yet to go but will do so when the lava starts flowing nicely into the ocean again.

Yeah, Kona has a lot more sun this time of the year as well as the nice white sand beaches. I can do without the drought over there (although we've had rain, clouds, rain, clouds and rain on the Hilo side). The temps are nice...76 degrees right now in Hilo at 6:12 PM Hawaii time.

Let me know when you guys come out and I'll show you the Red Road in the Puna District. It's a great piece of 'old Hawaii'.

I've been putting some images now and again here...but nothing lately. (external link)

They did a great job packing this lens. A very large box with the lens box nestled in the middle of a ton of air bags.
