This is pretty awesome... is the sensor basically borrowed from the T4i/T5i line? Everything else is just smaller?

For the first time in ages I'm really interested in a Rebel.

While I find small cameras to be not so comfortable for regular use, this is small enough to be portable where I don't want something as big as the 7D (even if I remove the grip, it's still kinda big). I think the key is going to be how well the grip is, and I hope is vastly superior in shape to that of the D3x00 and the early Sony SLT models, which felt like an improperly oversized P&S, it does look better though. I really hope rental companies carry it because I really really want to try one.

I love this idea.
Its like an EOS-M with:
built-in OVF
built-in EF adapter
built-in hand grip
moar buttons
made-in-Taiwan (first time for a rebel)

The EOS-110/SL2 will likely have Wifi and GPS.

Add wifi and I would buy this in a heartbeat. Couple it with the Tamron 17-50 for a great lightweight camera setup

JPEG only..?

It will be good for those who want the DSLR experience in a smaller package though.

I totally agree here..and the grip looks really good to me (and DPReview said it was surprisingly comfortable)

I think it with the 40mm f/2.8 STM pancake makes an awesome pocketable alternative to a mirrorless, Now Canon give us some more small EF-S primes!

Almost awsome. When travelling or wanting to be careful carrying the 5D or 1D is a pain. This with a 40 STM on... pocket cam. I would have liked to see something revolutionary for live view AF or video, if they really want to trap compact users they have to, but hey more choice. I does make me wonder what they have in store for the M series, this is like a "We f***ed up the M, so here is something better!"

Canon lists it as capable of raw. I am guessing they know.

Well thats good. Guess B&H got it wrong.

I'd say this is perfect for users with small hands now!

This looks good. I was going to go for the EOS-m but this night be something else to consider and since its pretty much a DSLR in a very compact design. No need to worry about a OVF and a bigger grip then EOS-m.

I upgraded from T1i to 60D & 5D, both gripped, because I wanted something to hang on to. This looks nice for high-IQ travel shots, though. Much better than any bridge super-zoom. Not for $800, I am afraid. $499, maybe.
