thought I'd use Half Dome as a backdrop rather than the main subject for once.

Beautiful shot Pete. I love the contrast of the subject tree versus everything else in the picture. Did you do any panoramas up there?

thanks. looking at it today though, I'm not entirely happy with the sky, might have to adjust it bit.

Randy - I took loads of panoramas up there. too many. it's gonna take a while to stitch/PP them all. :rolleyes:

Great shot Pete, I agree with you that the sky could be lightened a bit but the contrast of the trees with the mountain backdrop is great.
