I have a question that I would like to ask owners and users of the Wimberley Head II

I have a 600mm f4 and a 400mm f2.8 (external link) II that I would want to use with the gimbal head. I would like to get an idea of the maximum angle I could get before the lens fouls on the base of the gimbal when pointing the lens skywards.

Thanks in advance for your help

Unfortunately, the answer to your question is not that simple as it depends on a number of factors, like where the balance point is for the camera/lens combo, the type of camera body, i.e. gripped or not, etc.

Here's are two examples to show what I mean.

Thanks for taking the time to illustrate the differences in angles possible, Leo. Your time is very much appreciated. I am using a 1Dx so the top photo is more like what I could expect which looks good enough for BIF and for the odd air show.

Thanks once again, Leo
