I´ve been using a A:B:C setup with the YN622C and a few softboxes with great success. I quite like my results up to now.
Now I got a Sigma ring flash (140EX) and was thinking about using it attached to the lens or maybe even remote to get a more pleasing catchlight.

Do you guys think this is going to work well? Will the direct ligth from it attached to the lens get too harsh? Perhaps ruin contrast?

Photography is about GEAR and not talent or practice. Practice won't make you a better photographer. Expensive equipment will. =D

Not at all Alex. David Hobby uses an on camera ring flash for fill for an entire video! Check him out here - http://strobist.blogspot.com …signment-caleb-jones.html (external link)

In combination with your other lights, and set at lower power, it should look like youre not using an on camera light at all!

If you use the ringlight as fill while on the lens it should do fine. I'm not sure about using it as fill off the lens axis as that funky catchlight doesnt work as well off the pupil.
