Fortunate enough to capture a few photos of these horned grebes as they passed by. The first two were on a cloudy morning, while the third was during the sunny afternoon. All shot with a 7d and 70-200 f/2.8+2x extender. Thanks for looking!

Kevin A wrote in post #15745998 Excellent shots Brad Thank you! kpflynn wrote in post #15746988 Love those eyes!! They're something else, aren't they?! jhayesvw wrote in post #15747397 Very nice. Some excellent photos of the grebes. I have a hard time telling many Grebes apart. Clarks, horned, etc Thanks! The horned grebes I've seen here in Ohio seem to be in about every possible stage of their molting between non-breeding and breeding plumage, too, which makes ID a bit more interesting. It seems they all look slightly different from one another. chubri777 wrote in post #15747743 Very nice, Brad. Thank you! Facebook

Pretty amazing, isn't it? I can't believe just how red those eyes are! andrewhuxman wrote in post #15749278 Very nice shots Brad, these are on my list for sure have seen them but never been able to get any shots Thanks, Andrew! I felt very fortunate to have them swim by as closely as they did, so I could get decent shots with 400mm worth of lens. I've just gotten back into birding in the past 6-8 months after being interested in it when I was younger, so I'm just starting to get down IDs, too. Facebook
