Why don't you tell the seller? There are many 75-300 listed as 70-300 too.

Can't you get the real 70-200 2.8L (non-IS) for less than this? No wonder its still for sale.

Sent him/her a quick note through Ebay. He/she responded with a thank you and the listing has been corrected to 80-200.

Yes the listing is now 80-200 but the price is still $1,300 after me sending this: https://photography-on-the.net …rch.php?searchid=38680416 Hope no one pays the asking price!

Well, as long as the listing title/description matches the item for sale, he/she isn't doing anything wrong. I wont try to police their pricing anymore than I would someone selling in the 'buy and sell' here. If someone wants it bad enough and can't get it elsewhere then maybe they will pay it. If not, it will continue to be for sale. Either way, as long as the listing is correct then no harm is being done. Just my opinion of course.

The link you posted that you sent to the eBay seller isn't working for me. It goes to a POTN Duck Report. Could be a problem on my end.

The Price Police are out in force!

Why let yourself be bothered by someone's pricing decision on eBay? There are tens of thousands of items that are severely overpriced. Also, posting it in the Market Watch forum here on POTN is not helping to build quality content in this forum. We could fill the first 100 pages of the Market Watch forum with threads warning people about Craigslist and/or eBay pricing discrepancies. Can you see how that would get old and degrade the forum?

Curiosity on what 80-200mm's are going for now..but I don't see the point of creating a thread about it...

I'm just more mad I used "their" instead of "they're" now

Someone is selling the 24-70L Version I, UU date code for $1750 on my local CL, so I sent an amail asking why the asking price is so high? Seller replied "I am testing the water because I know there are lot of naive people out there" Wow! what a jerk!
