I'm in need of a WiFi browsing machine. Any thoughts on this and/or using Chrome?

The Chromebooks have very mixed reviews, but for browsing would fit the bill.

That being said, I'd consider an Android tablet or iPad instead. They are fantastic for browsing, much more local storage, immediate startup, long battery life, silent, run thousands of apps, etc...

Thanks jday

I picked up a Samsung Tab2 10.1 today as recommended by you and others. I don't have or use a smartphone, so getting use to the interface is a little challenging, but it looks to be the right fit for what I need the device for.

I had one of the original Chrome books, Google mailed it to me for free. Given it's usefulness, they should have paid me to store it. I gave it away, kept the cool box it came in.
