Finally getting around to looking at the eagle shots from the annual Sheffield Mills, Nova Scotia Eagle Watch. Seems that I can never manage to get to this on a sunny day. Very overcast and cold! I can never remember to boost the iso far enough to reduce my noise to acceptable levels. Here are some that are the best of the bunch, but I am still not happy with the amount of noise that I get.

Just passing through...

Still excellent shots, John! I flipped a coin between standing in a cold, snowy field for the eagles, or going to Florida ..... Florida won ;). I heard there were fewer this year than last, was that so? I know the wind off the Bay of Fundy there can be bone-chilling. The sun just doesn't shine there at the end of January.

You made the right choice!.

Its hard to say, It seems that the days I go there are relatively few.

I was there in the morning, was outside for around 3 hrs. before the eagles decided to feed. Finally was so cold decided to leave. Got out to Tim's in New Minas and the sun came out. LOL

I'd love to have that opportunity John, except for the aforementioned cold ;)
I love the 2nd capture and the look of determination you captured in the face of that eagle.

Tks for the kind words. They did clean up very well for all that I complained about the noise.

The full size tiff's still show the problems at a 1:1 pixel peep. We're never happy!

LOL

I like both photos! The second photo is my favorite though. Filling the frame with Baldies is a great composition!

Thanks, I'd really like to take credit for that composition but the fact is it is cropped about 1/2 the original. The eagles were a fair bit away even with the bigma maxed out at 500mm.
