2 Gentle HDR images - Mono or Colour.

I had seen this church and with our snowfall overnight, so we nipped over to Wellingborough and wandered around to see what we could get.

I chose to process the rather 'flat' images that the overcast and leaden sky gave us, with a gentle HDR treatment.

So which do you prefer, the Colour or Mono image.

Canon 1Dx, 24mm f3.5L TS-E II, Tripod mounted 3 exposures - 1/200, 1/1000, 1/2500 secs at f8. Lens shifted 2mm.

I cant decide. I like them both.

I agree that they're both good but I prefer the mono image.

I think they both work well, it is really dependant on the mood you are after. A mechanical engineer trying to explain moods doesn't work well, so I won't attempt.

Both shots are amazing but the color one is my favorite.

Question, since they are HDR is there any detail in the trees or the gravestones on the right side of the frame?

Just for fun, cool off the monotone image. It looks a little too magenta on my monitor. Maybe a snow scene will have more "mood" if it is rendered cold black with just a touch of blue.
Oh, BTW... IMO, this image should be B&W.

There is plenty of detail captured by the sensor. I don't normally run my images through HDR software, so it is a bit of an experiment for me. I think the web jpeg compression doesn't help much either.
