During a visit from one of the wife's Dutch relatives, we had the opportunity to visit the Gibbs Farm, an hour or so north of Auckland.
I had heard of the property before but was not aware that it was open to the public one day a month. You do need to book but there is no entry fee.
Mr Gibbs is quite a character (I have been told stories about him that are not for public forums) & despite not spending a lot of his time in New Zealand, is still a proud Kiwi.
Googling "Alan Gibbs" will provide a wealth of information about the man, more recently known for his work with amphibious vehicles and the farm itself does have a website http://www.gibbsfarm.org.nz/about.php![]()
If your ever in the upper part of the North Island of New Zealand and you have a day to spare on one of the open days, it is well worth the effort.
Now, some random images from the day.
I hope you enjoy.
We also took a trip to "Hobbiton" and I will create a new thread for some of those images.
