canon 430exII Its canon's general purpose flash. Will work seemlessly with your camera, including the wireless controller. I'm not a huge fan of 3rd party flashes as your primary flash.

First I would say that the camera you're attaching it to doesn't matter. What matters is how you want to use it.

Among the OEM Canon Speedlites, the 430EX II is a versatile unit that will meet the needs of most non-professionals.

I dont really have a budget, just thinking about adding some versatility and some more equipment. :)

In that case, I think you need one of these:

So yeah, that not really helpful.

But if you have no budget I'd say go with the 600ex-rt. As far as why go with that one, well because you haven't given a budget or any specifics as to what you'll need it for. So like I said, but the best you can and right now that's the best

You can do a 403 EX used or the 430 EXII. I would recommend staying with Canon for it's ettl.

Yongnuo 568EX

It is cheaper than the 430EXII and has the same power level as the 580EXII.

It could do ETTL and HSS as well.

It that range I'd say go with a canon 430ex II or a yongnuo yn568ex.

They will both be fairly close with the 568ex being slightly more powerful and larger then the 430ex II.

Personally I would go with the canon 430ex II. I have one and a 580ex II and like both, but for standard work on a budget the 430ex is great and works beautifully.
