another pano, not working out, advice needed

i took this the other day while looking for snowy owls, again it has the lines in it, i used manual mode, i used the same settings for every picture, it was at 33mm

anyway i put it together in ps elements, because thats what i have, i havent figured out how to put it together in ps6 yet, anyway some advice would be great

i ran into the same problem when i was doing a dusk pano of cincinnati.even though my eposures were locked by using manual. the lighting wasnt .it was changing fast. i suspect your problem is caused by all the moving clouds in the shot. the only advise i could give without going the photoshop route.is to do one on a more blue sky day.I"m not suggesting cloudless.i know tht was a highlight of the shot
i was on the other hand able to save mine by using a mix of cloning tool ,and healing brush.
there is some pano experts on this forum,and im sure they can give even better suggestions. good luck

Two questions;
1. How did you put it together in Elements. ( I don't have Elements, does it have stitching software )
2. Did you use a CP filter ?

yes elements has a stiching tool i used that. at the risk of sounding ignoriant what is cp?
this was more daytime, i believe it was around 4ish.... not dawn by anymeans, i dont know how fast the clouds were moving so that maybe an issue however the ground has thoes lines in it too?

CP = circular polarizer it is used mostly for eliminating glare,and can enhance sky colors. a definite no no for panos

Sorry, CP Filter is a Circular Polarising filter.

ah, no i didnt have any filters on except uv filter

It's got something to do with the blending of the images not the movement of the clouds.
You can see in the extreme left the blend in the foreground is off.

Any decent stitching software should be able to eliminate the banding and blend the images assuming no filters and the same exposure for each image.

I'm baffled.

Edit. How much overlap did you allow ?

i think there is 10 pictures there, its about 130 deg

Download Autostitch - it's freeware. Set the options to "size 100%" and "jpeg quality 100". Tell it which images to use.

If you don't get a perfect result, I'd be very surprised.

I haven't had that much success using Photoshop to create panos. I've found I get better results with PTGui.

here it is with autostitch, i had some problems with it saying i was out of memory, and then it wouldnt add all my pictures to the pano, but i got it going good enough

I see Autostitch has done a good job for you. If you have memory problems with Autostitch, try setting "system memory" to the lowest, 0.25Mb. I know this sounds crazy, but it forces it to use disk swapping rather than memory, and works with more "blocks", avoiding the memory errors. Show us the uncropped pano, I'm surprised you got a skewed horizon as this doesn't usually happen to me and your initial images looked OK.
