Snydremark my very own Lightrules moment More info | Mar 26, 2013 18:34 | #8 It's not uncommon to see these two, huge birds in contention. We've had a huge drop in reproduction rates, of the GBH, around here that matches up with the resurgence of Balds in the region. And it wouldn't surprise me at all to see the animosity going both ways; as both birds do, occasionally, eat from other birds' nests. - Eric S.: My Birds/Wildlife

Getting that angle on a high-speed bank is pretty "right place, right time", though. One of the bald eagle nests I watch is in the same tree as a heron colony. The tree collapsed last year and they moved the nest one tree to the north. I figured they stayed because of the available food next door.

Or did they take it over from one of the colony, I wonder - Eric S.: My Birds/Wildlife
