Hi All,
Just come back home from a short trip into Antarctic Peninsular yesterday. Before the trip, we didn't expect much rather than 'once-of-lifetime experience' for 'been there'; which proved we were wrong wrong wrong, but it is in the very very good way!
The magnificent Antarctic landscape just unbelievable breathtaking beautiful; and great number of animal living in the Peninsular are the beyond my imagination.
Antarctica, the very best place for landscape and wildlife photographers!
For this trip, my wife and me took 5D2 and 5D3 bodies; 24L II, 85L II, 24-105L and 28-300L. Zeiss 10x25 Conquest T* & Leica 10x25 BCA Trinovid Binoculars; Crumpler 7 Million Dollar Home to carry all the gear:

But my 24-105L started to have 'Error 1' during our short trip around Chile, which didn't settle after I cleaned the lens connectors. So we didn't use this lens in Antarctic at all. Sorry for all 24-105L fan!
One of the reasons for bring 24L II & 85L II, we were going to watch Tango show in Argentina. Nothing can beat those two very fast prime lenses!
Most 5D3 shoots have GPS position, and flickr / google map report "This photo was taken on March xx, 2013 in a mysterious place with no name" if the shoot was taken in Antarctica.
For the next week or two, I'll post our trip in the chronicle way. I'm more than happy to answer your questions.
Day One: Very early flight from Buenos Aires to Ushuaia, Argentina
That day Ushuaia was raining AS USUAL. We were NOT impressive.
