U9 baseball opener this weekend in the freezing cold. Add in a stomach bug and this guy was "throwin' up and throwin' strikes". This was the facebook version of this picture, camera generated .jpg. Warmed slightly, exposure tweaked, that's all (I know, it's crooked ). Haven't worked with the RAW yet.

It's a good shot. As you mentioned it's crooked, try straightening but don't cut off the foot. Try brightening the pitchers face. Tough to deal with the harsh shadows and a white uniform at the same time.

This is a great shot! Its not as sharp as I would like it to be but the action and facial expression is there. What settings were you using for this shot?

This was a rented Sigma 70-200 /2.8 (non VS) with no hood (it was missing), hand-held (probably the cause of the lack of sharpness). Shooting through the back-stop fence at 1/2000 sec shutter priority. I'd have to look at the data on file for the aperture, but I'd guess probably 2.8. I bumped the shutter speed up because I was shivering :D. It was 32 deg. at gametime...

I think your shutter speed should be plenty fast enough. Looks like the focus is just of a bit. his left leg seems to be sharp about middle of upper leg. Also, maybe crop out the left side and show us more of the right. He is right dead in the middle of the frame. Keep Shooting!
