This is a vertical shot of El Capitan using the EF-S-10-22mm lens. Bluedog has asked to see more of the wide shots with this lens. So I am processing these. I hand blended this from several raw exposures (3) using CS2. C&C on the blending job would be appreciated since I am just learning how to do this.

first off, great angle. I love the overall composition and colour of the water in the foreground.
to improve it though, I would suggest:
1/ straightening the ground
2/ try and fix the blown out part of the sky
3/ the top half of the photo including the trees and El Capitan look slighlty too bright and low contrast.
4/ if possible, remove the small trees at the bottom of the picture

well, that's what I'd do anyway. It's a great photo, but it still needs a bit of work in my opinon. Makes me wish I had a 10-22 though.
How wide an exposure range covers the 3 images? Have you tried merging an HDR?

Thanks Pete
I personaly think it needs work also. I have been struggling with this HDR thing. I have tried to blend shots using raw and CS2 with 3 shots 1 - 2 stops apart. I don't like the results. It comes out muddy and flat. I had a thread going in the post processing part of this forum and have gotten good suggestions. I am going to keep trying but this time I was trying to blend the same shot processed with a three different exposures in CS2 raw.

Canon please make a camera with a very wide dynamic range!!! Please!

Julio, I sympathize as I've been trying some blending and HDR of interior shots. I'm not yet satisfied with the process, but don't see much hope for a broader dynamic range camera.

I think your work here is excellent, especially with Pete's suggestions applied.

Thanks guys.
Stan I guess misery likes company. I am glad I am not the only one trying to find a way to deal with HDR images. I am considering graduated neutral density filters and working with the dilemma on the front end of the process.
