Right now B&H and Amazon have the 6D at ~$1780 - a great price, but it includes price deductions scheduled to end on March 30. I'm up in BC, but I'm going to visit my dad in Nashville at the end of April, and could have the camera delivered there (no tax and shipping being a huge bonus!) However, I won't see the camera until the return period is expired.

So - do I risk it and get the good price now, and hope there are no problems with the copy I'm sent? Or is there a chance that the price will NOT increase substantially between now and May 1?

Help me decide what to do!

Why not just go ahead and get it 1780 isn't that bad of price. Or you willing to pay 1900? Prices go up/down a little bit on most things.

The lowest that we've seen recently from an authorized dealer is $1684; I think the prices still have room to go down from where they are now ($1780), not up!

I'd buy now without hesitation.

The Imaging World via eBay. They're Canon Authorized and in NY, so if you ship to TN you won't pay tax. I posted about it here: https://photography-on-the.net …/showthread.php?t=1281598

They dropped from $1699 to $1684 a bit after I made that post.

They are closed for passover now, and set their prices higher before the closing, but I bet if you wait until mid-next week that price will be back. Maybe try setting a price notification on cpw?

Ok, I'll take a look. The only problem with buying on ebay is that the seller has to ship to your confirmed paypal address to be protected, and my paypal address is in BC. Since Amazon and B&H will allow different shipping and billing addresses, I usually stick to them when I'm planning on visiting the states.

I know lots of people just have a US mailbox or something, and drive back and forth across the border. But I live 1400k north of the border, so that won't work for me! :)

:) Oh, well in that case...
I think I can handle $1785 - but don't want to pay $1995 if I don't have to.

Its probably going to be cheaper soon. It dropped $450-$350 from MSRP in less than 4 months. If you dknt mind buying refurbished, there's a good chance they'll have these along with their 15-20% discount.
