I personally would make an attempt to usually place the mother near the center and surround her with the children. It's hard to give an exact example without knowing the layout of where you will be posing them. Considering the children are adults, I would most likely place a little space between everyone....but not too much. You want to convey the maturity of the children without loosing the mother/child bond.
