So i've had the refurb 5d Mk III for a few days now and I am wondering if anyone here can help to answer some questions I have.

Shutter Count
EOSCount.com showed a shutter count of 56 on March 21st when I received the (refurbed) camera body. NOW, when reviewing photos on the rear LCD there is also a shutter counter (that only goes to 9999 then resets to 0000).
On March 21st the camera shutter counter read something like 95xx and the EOSCount was 56...??? Im very confused about this. Here are some pics below showing what I mean. The Mark III now has 739+ shots on it (according to EOSCount) while the body itself shows 0321..??

IMAGE: http://i825.photobucket.com/albums/zz173/typicaljawaiian/My%20Canon%207d%20Album/Preset-1_zpsfd1d915d.jpg

Also, I was doing some fine detail editing and noticed a bunch of these completely white pixels while zoomed in lightroom. Am I over-reacting or is this something I should address?

IMAGE: http://i825.photobucket.com/albums/zz173/typicaljawaiian/My%20Canon%207d%20Album/pixel_zpsa817c2cd.jpg

Last, when the shutter opens and closes to capture an image the "click" I hear doesn't sound right to my ears. Granted this is coming from someone who has never heard a 5d Mark III fire. Although it sounds COMPLETELY different from my 7d..?? The Mark III's shutter just sounds "loose" like a spring sliding up and down in a pipe (is the best way I can describe it (not a tight click like my 7d). The 7d has a nice snappy click click and 5d is more like "kachunk".....LoL.

BASICALLY......Should I send it in to get looked at?? I know I got it refurbished, but it still cost me a lot of money. I've read that refurbs are tested before they ship which is a big reason why I bought it but little things can still slip by. Any help is appreciated....Thanks!

Not happy with it, send it back before your 2 weeks runs out and exchange it for another one.

i think you are looking for problems. the shutter on my 5d3 sounds springy too especially the last of a three-shot sequence. my default is silent shutter :D.

You boost exposure 4 stops, High lights and shadows 1 stop as well and complain of 1 hot pixel? Gimme a break.

Give ME a Break...If you look carefully, you'd see that I was using the adjustment brush "TOOL." I only did that to draw the arrow and the circle on the image.

I REALLY don't want to send the camera back as I have a 3 day event this weekend and another 3 day event next weekend SO...........

just remember to switch back to regular shutter is you are doing HDR or anything else that requires the fastest shutter speed. you do do some nice work and i'm always interested in seeing hawaii. looks like we may go to the big island this xmas :D.

Every sensor ever made (OK, I probably exaggerate a tiny bit) has hot and dead pixels. Given how many gazillion of them there are, its not surprising.

uh. I don't think the number from the camera is a shutter counter. I think it's just canon's numbering system for pictures. It just shows that number from the picture name, and I don't think Canon is expecting anybody to hold more than 10000 pics per card.

Ah my apologies for my previous remark then. (Though at the time I was thinking wow there is little banding on those rocks considering the exposure push!).

The file number is not the same as the shutter count. You cant see the actual shutter count on the camera.
Are you using a card that's been in another camera? This could explain the high file number when you first got it.

The shutter noise sounds about right. Its a sloppy spongy sort of noise, almost glass like.

The only thing i'd worry about is the dots. Thats your call but if it was me id send it back.
