The first event at a new track created in Wanaka was held today, an addition to the national series. The first time I've seen these racing in person, the sounds and smells definitely add something that TV just can't convey.

Cool photos by the way, have always wanted to photograph one of these events. It's a brand new track, this was its first use. Great if you want to take pics as you can get right up to the fence, and lenses fit through so shots are unobstructed. If you don't mind getting a bit of spray every so often. Unfortunately the sound tech guy was fixing one of the speakers and was on the receiving end of spray like this, soaked head to toe instantly.
