It doesn't say how he made this press pass back in 1965 but it save to assume it wasn't Photoshop. I wonder why he sat on the images for this long.

The method seemed to work for him, because he was ultimately able to trick police men into escorting him right to the front of the stage. That’s where, as luck would have it, the only other photographer present happen to run out of film,

Well, he got $45,000 for the shots.

Let this be a salutory lesson as to the value of always carrying plenty of film (or memory cards) and the potential cost of not doing so.

I'd say that back in 1965 the press cards were just a bit of card with a logo, your name and the word "press" typed across it and I doubt it would have had a photo on it so by todays standards it was more about the audacity and balls of actually going up to the police and showing then the fake ID and then actually carrying on the act that got him on the stage.

Did anyone else notice that they misspelled Ringo Starr's name?

Missed that but then again I don't really care. I would bet you are probably one in hundreds that would pick up on that.

Haha probably...I used to be a magazine and newspaper editor and still edit articles for scholarly journals and stuff. I geek out on the Easter egg hunt that is copy editing. ;)

HA! Good catch...solid effort, Peta Pixel...managed to get half the names right...but it's okay, the Beatles are a pretty obscure band... ;)

$45,000 which translates into about $6,000 in 1965. Not bad for a days work (or theft), then or now.

A clipboard, a tie, and any kind of imposing name tag does the same thing. You walk straight forward, don't avoid eye contact, and don't slow down. It also helps if you fake a phone conversation in which you are extremely disappointed with the imaginary subordinate on the other end of the conversation. Walk right on in like you've been there a million times.

Thank you. bw!

act like youre SUPPOSED to be there/do that...

during Desert Shield and later Desert Storm, friends got things for their squadron (Air Force AREFS) by driving up to loading docks (within the military complex) with a clipboard, looking around and saying "yeah this is the one were supposed to get"...

they then loaded a couple of refrigerators, and several filing cabinets and tables onto their stake bed trucks and drove off. no one questioned them about what they were taking. its all in the attitude...
