Yes it required -6 on my 5D2. My previous copy needed +10. Both were very sharp wide open, I really love this lens. Only sold it the first time as I needed the money

I think you win for sharpness wide open!! Damn!! The weather is terrible, not motivated these days, but I think I might have to get one of my kids to hold still for a few moments so I can once and for all see what mine will do wide open. I don't think is can compare to what you have put up today Eddie. Still love the eyes on that little dude!!

Thanks Cory. I should add that I applied an unsharp mask to both photos in cs6. 100% at 0.7 radius and 0 threshold, but the lens is pretty darn sharp without sharpening in post. Both of these were bounced flash at 1/160th

Took my dog to the park today, figured I'd give the 85 a bit of a workout. Shot at 1.8 in AI Servo mode:

Great shot Nikro

Hi do you mind linking or explaining to us what method you used to micro adjust your copy of this lens? I'm afraid I might need to on mine, I also shoot out of a 5d2. Your shots are great by the way!

Google the "dot tune method".
