And indeed it did! One of the best portraits in the thread in quite some time!

Cory, you are far too kind.

With a subject that cute you needn't worry about the background. Nice shot!!

Thank you. I still need to work on this type shot...depth of field is still to shallow....need to back up but then too much of the junk background shows up!

Thanks. Its nice when you can get everything to come together.

Well, lets see, good location, nice smile, just enough catch light in the eyes, nicely posed, and very smooth background bokeh. What's not to like? :)
Oh, and the Daisy's were a nice touch. ;)

The Captain and crew finally got their stuff together, now if we can only remember where we left it.

Really wish I was better with my strobes. If it weren't for the catch you'd almost bet nothing was even used...

Ran into a few mushrooms on the way home the other night with all the wet weather we have been having. I actually pulled over to get a shot of this mass of mushrooms. They were interesting to say the least. I think it is called "Chicken of the woods" or something like that. No idea where that name would come from.

You have to start with good quality ambient light, in this case it was golden hour light, open shade caused by a mountain blocking the sun. From there I just added a bit of fill from a 24x24 inch softbox with a single speedlight. I have others from earlier in the day where the lash had to be stronger to compete with harsher ambient and the flash is more apparent, although only to a photographer looking for it.
