I am planning to get used copy from member. How is the focusing during ai-servo with 70d. I am struggling with my sigma lens with ai-servo. I am thinking of trying with Canon lens.

Thanks

My 85 1.8 is probably my fastest focusing lens, and it is damn accurate too. I don't think I've used it much in AI-Servo on my 70D but my guess is that it would be great.

I use it in AI Servo all the time. Works for kids, so it's fast.

I agree with Solepatch about the focus speed on the 85 1.8. It is far and away my faster focusing lens. I use it for kids and sports regularly. Not on the 70D, but I use it on both my 6D and my 7D2 and they both shine with this lens attached.

Thanks for the feedback. I am really surprised how great these Canon lens in terms of focusing great in so many camera generations. Where as 30mm non art , art and 17-50mm lens which Sigma is still making, are never worked properly in servo focusing for me.

Actually my Sigma 30mm non-art is my second fastest focusing lens. And that includes AI server on my crop body. So maybe it was just copy variation.

Two clicks of my son Arpan. Love this lens. It is quite difficult to use this lens. But I love the result.

I think, you mean f/1.2L lens.

Got my lens. Focus is working fine except it is noisy. Lens hood hooks up nice but it is not snug. One can rotate it freely around lens.

70D F1.8 160 ISO6400.

I don't think the hood is tight on ANY 85 1.8

Thanks for the confirmation. Used lens I got, looks good to me wide open even with very high iso.

I hate that hood attaching system as well, but would never deem the AF noisy.
