Hiked up to Josephine lake out of McCall Idaho this weekend. The tradition is that Mama makes crowns out of the available wild flowers for the kids. I've got shots of them from babies on up wearing these things. They make me smile.

Tomorrow I'll pick up my copy of this lens, can't wait :-)

I try asking again: any action shot taken with this lens? Youth sports maybe?

I have used it a little for motorsports, but not much. It does fine, it acquires focus reasonably quick. Getting good shots in action sports is more a function of the body IMO...

Silma, I would say yes with a caveat! You have to be close enough to the action to get the shot in frame. I am an instructor for a martial arts school here locally and I have used my 85 1.8 with great results. But I am typically about 15-40 feet from the action. This lens works really well in low light situations where you need to open her up a bit to get a fast enough shutter speed to catch the action.
I did get another lens recently that has almost replaced the 85, but there are just some times that the 85 because of it's better low light handling capabilities is still the lens of choice.

I recognize the VB shot is a little OOF, it's not the lens, it's the guy behind it!
