Canon EF 85mm f/1.8 USM (II)

excellente as usual alex. really nice. you made me itch this lens again.

and for some reason I find my self using the 50 more. When I had the 60d I used this one more. Dont know what happened lol

had 6d for a year now

currently spending a weekend in Rome

and i am very proud to say it out loud: i just lost my prime lens virginity today with my newly bought 85 1.8

i tried to organize my shooting habits

before that my primary lens was the 24-70

and since yesterday, i have been shooting a lot more with my 17-40

for any need above 40, most of the pictures were shot at 70, i realized that i didn't shoot in between, so i used the 70-200

and when possible instead of shooting with the 70-200 for pictures between 70 and 100mm, i switched to the 85 1.8 by moving my position when necessary
and it worked !


totally amazed by the portraits i was able to shoot

i knew it was possible to shoot wide open as i saw pictures here, but you only believe it when you do it for real


this weekend has helped me decide to get rid of the 24-70 and replace it with a future sigma 35 1.4 that will cover what would be between the 17-40 and the 85

well, thanks again all the people here who gave me good advices, i am truly happy with my 85

thank you, thank you. and no 50 1.2 for me.... i wish. i use mostly the 50 1.4 and 85 1.8
