Sad day today...

went out with my family today for easter egg hunt. took a lot of photos of my little ones on my 5D2.

when i got home.. i see the photos perfectly in my camera and in the Adobe Bridge. But the weird thing is... once its transfered in and I open to with PS or Bridge, the photos are all messed up.

this is like the 3rd time that happened to me, and i'm not sure if it's related to the CF card, camera or what..

see attached photos. this is what it looks like in Bridge. i have also attached a shutter count... so i don't think shutter would be the issue.. or could it?

any ideas? thanks~

Just a wild guess but try a different card reader or use the cable directly.

actually, that's what i thought too.. so i connected the usb cable directly from 5D2 to the computer.. and same thing.

EDIT: Mods.. please delete this thread. as it turned out the Adobe Bridge on my computer was messed up. Cuz the Adobe Bridge on my laptop was perfectly fine... guess it's time to format and reinstall...

Shutter problem doesn't fit; what you've got there looks more like some kind of digital corruption.

So your shots look OK in camera, and swapping from reader to direct cable connection makes no difference? Couple of things I'd try:

- If you used the same cable for both read attempts, try a different cable.

- Try bypassing bridge etc. Just plain copy one or two of the files to your HD and open them up directly in DPP or LR/PS

That happened to me once, it was my PC that corrupted the files somehow. Eventually upgraded the system and never saw it again. Looks like a computer hardware issue motherboard or ram problem.

Just read your update, glad you isolated the problem.

That's not necessary in most cases. You can deactivate and remove Bridge and re-install it again. If needed, you could do that for the entire Adobe suite and then re-install.

I would place physical memory and storage media on the list of suspects...

thank you all for the reply. i ran malwarebytes and caught some bugs and some virus here and there. the computer is running slow like a slug; which is odd for a quad-core.

will just backup, format and start from scratch...
