Sigma 17-70 old and new version - what is diffent?

Pls tell the difference between Sigma 17-70 f2.8-4 (old version) and new version with C on the side, focusing on image quality and performance. Is the new good at f4 like the old one. Thank you so much.

I compared MTF plots for both versions, and they looked comparable. So I don't expect the new version to have better IQ. Other things, like AF accuracy, might have improved.

Outside MTF, the few real world reviews/tests/what have you's that have come out seem to indicate that performance of the new version is better than the old one. On par with the Canon 15-85.

Sounds like you can pick excellent 17mm performance with the old one or excellent 70mm on the new one, but not both!

Personally I like the old, old 2.8-4.5 version and it's practically free on the used market.
