These are each a set of 6 using a lunt 60 PT single stacked and a DMK41 camera. Let me know what you think, critiques welcomed and preferred. thanks

Here is the first attempt:

Very nice, and indeed the second one is better :)
Which telescope did you use ? It looks like a single stack, maybe a Coronado PST ?

Ah, nice :) I hope you won't have the same problem as I had, the second etalon came de-contacted, and of course it's the only thing not covered by the waranty, you have to send it back and pay $250 ... I won't buy Lunt again.

Did you buy it new and wasn't it under warranty? How do you know if it is de-contacted

Yes it was new. I provided sample pictures with and without the second etalon and Lunt diagnosed it ( it was as if the image was smeared toward a specific direction, and that direction changed if you rotated the etalon ). I guess it must have been during the transport to Tahiti.

From Rikki Hocking, Lunt sales department, it was sent to the dealer I bought the telescope from :

"From the pictures you have sent it does look like the LS60FHa may be de-contacted.
Unfortunately de-contacting is not covered by our warranty. I would need the customer to send us the LS60FHa for us to inspect it. We will not need the LS60T scope back. The standard re-contacting fee is about $250.00 but depending on the damage it may be more. Please have your customer return it to our address below. Please have him ship it in the case and double boxed if possible. On the outside of the box please reference RMA# ###. The turnaround time is usually about 2 to 3 weeks. Please let me know if you have any questions."

That's kinda BS to me.

Wow that sucks, I could understand if it was dropped or abused but DOA is not cool. We're you able to get your money back from the dealer?

It's very unlikely, since the etalon was sent back. We already paid the custom fees and such ( over 40% tax ), so it'll be for minimum loss. It was for the astronomy club down here, and was ordered for the transit of Venus back in June.

It's just sad that they apply such policies :(
