Is it true that using an st-e3-rt along with a 600 ex won't allow you to sync at anything higher than 1/125 on older bodies such the 5D II?

I have been using the 600EX-RT's and ST-E3-RT's with a 5D mII and I have thoroughly tested this combo on my 7D and 60D all with no sync issues and I was able to use HS with all fore mentioned cameras as well. You will get the little warning icon when using those cameras but so far I have not had a single sync issue. Here is a thread discussing this issue.

Fascinating. Why would Canon claim the opposite? Pisses me off...

Because they have a team of lawyers checking all the marketing and product manual material to make sure they are protected from liability and false claims law suits.

We should all remember that, given today's litigious environment, any manual is specifying the worst case scenario for the product.

Feel free to use 1/250 on 7D and 1/200 on 5D Mark II.
Have not had an issue since I invested in 600 EX-RT/ ST E3 system last May.
