As part of a band contest in which I was judging, a special guest was included in order to have time to count votes right at the end. They're friends of mine so I had the camera with me of course :-). Loads more over on my site or on Facebook.

Thanks Joe! No, not at all. I go through Lightroom first and do noise reduction, exposure fixing and contrast. With most pictures I introduce a faint split toning as well. Then I go to Nik Color Efex and use bleach bypass and then add a bi-color filter.

A lot of photographers have told me they don't like all the processing (I would even go so far as to say I have had many noses turned up on me when it comes to this subject), but the bands (who are my clients) all love it. With media it has been 50/50.

I think it works well with metal bands. Its not something I would use all the time, but i think when applied to the right set it definitely works.

Yeah, definitely only for a certain kind of music which lends itself to a certain type of pose and light show (with loads of smoke)...

Thanks again, positive feedback from a master such as yourself is a great feeling!

I think this processing works well when the lighting is sketch, but I gotta say Sherv you do lean towards it a little too much I recon. All in love mate, just my thoughts :)
