It's been a while since I posted, but I recently returned from camping in Carolina Beach State Park and have plenty of pictures to share. Carolina Beach State Park is an amazing places where the environment ranges from barren sands, to beautiful swamps. In addition, it's located in the only region where the Venus Fly Trap naturally grows.

Not, a macro, but this image attempts to portray the amazing beauty of the environment. This photo really gives the place no justice at all.

Really lovely shots and that sure does look like a haven of peace. Great looking ground spider and very nice detail on the tiny yellow flowers. All good!

I really lucked out on the swamp shot as far as the setting went. I was hoping for a stronger presence of insects and reptiles, but with all the cold weather lately, that hope was long gone. I'm already planning on traveling back down there in a month or two as it's quite a remarkable place. I really hope I can squeeze in another visit before my trip to the Dominican Republic later this summer.

Really want to find a glass lizard, a white tiger beetle (Cicindela gratiosa), and a coral snake. (all of which live in the park)

Thanks again fellas. :)

I've already begun planning a returning trip there! Instead of only 2 days, I plan on camping 7 days this time.
