I'm going to have to get more shots and work on editing a bit more but here's the first shot.

OK, now that we have that out of the way... ; )
The problem with that image is that my eyes go to the three brightest areas of the image first. And while the top of the bike has some good highlights, the bottom blends into the background. We all know that bright areas in a image tend to make a dark subject look even darker. Take a look at this example: https://photography-on-the.net …hp?p=2415343&po​stcount=30
The gray bar at the center is the same density all the way across.

So generally, I'd prefer a predominantly dark bike to be against a dark background, like this one:

A new layer to brighten the bike. Then layer mask back to the background and you can have the combination you won't ,as is the bike is far to dark hiding all the detail
