I see quite alot of aurora borealis in my town, Tromsø. The town made famous for auroras in Joanna Lumleys trip, in search of the northern lights.

My thoughts are that with the cameras today, you can easily push the ISO up pretty far. That way you capture more of the movement in the aurora:) With my 5D mk3 i often take aurora photos at 3200 ISO, or even higher:)


This first two was taken with my old 50D, the last two are with my 5Dmk3..
