So I know the pose isn't the best but this is my first shot blowing out the BG. How did I do? Any pointers?

Based on the highlight on her sweater at her breast, the background light may be just a bit hot.
The kicker on her back hides any spill forward from background on that side.

Generally well done. How far is she from the background? I've found that getting some distance helps with spill.

My first guess was that the subject is to close to the background from the little bit of spill you have (it's really not bad but it's still there) but 6-7 feet there shouldn't be a problem. Try setting your background light to 1.3 to 1.5 of a stop above your main light. Another possible reason for the spill could be a small room (relativity speaking) and the light bouncing off the walls.

medicdude--I'm guessing his setup is very close to this http://www.zarias.com …torial-part-1-gear-space/ (external link)

Yeah I was wondering how many lights. I'm using a b800 main and reflector wall with 580ex2 for BG, in the market for another bee

Room is only 12' wide so that may account for some of it. Also I know I had my settings screwed on a couple and this may be one of them.

This is the setup used. The tile board makes a pretty decent floor but I am curious to see how long it will hold up. I did not have the flags shown here on the BG lights so that may have been some of it. I am wondering if barn doors would work better then just the standard metal reflector on the RX600? From a space point of view the flags could be an issue. Curious as to others experience between the metal reflectors and barn doors.

You triggered my memory I also had a reflector camera right pushing some light back into the right side of the face.

Tile board wont last to long (depending on how often it is used of course) one big helper is putting down a towel or something for the subject to walk on till they get to the spot that you want them this will also help clean any stray dirt off of their shoes. If you are not doing full body you could just have them stand on the towel.

Barn doors would help. Basically anything that will keep the light from going where you don't want it and direct it towards the background will help. I've gone as high tech as gaffing a piece of cardboard to a reflector when I didn't have anything else handy. LOL.

Does anyone have a good source for reasonably priced good quality barn doors for an 8 1/4 reflector? Elinchrom wants over $200.00 per set.

This series was shot on a white background. The model was about 10 feet in front of the white seamless, and I used two white tile panels on the floor. The model is standing on the first one.

Naturally, there is processing on the files but not to clean the background other than at the tile board edge.
