Just wondering if anyone else has ever heard a low soft beep coming from their flash unit.

Mine is two years old and I don't ever remember hearing this before. I have to be in a fairly quiet room or have my ear near the flash unit, but there is definately a soft beep exactly every 7 seconds (I timed it).

Just wondering if any other users have ever heard this?

Cheers,
Bear Dale

Can't say that I have. I'll go take a listen.

I hear the squeal as the firing circuit is charging. And then.....YES! A beep.

It repeats a few times. More frequent just after the charging is done. Every 4-5 seconds. All is normal. Never paid any mind to it. It has also been a long time since I have used mine.

That's the circuit charging the capacitor, it happens with all speedlite type flashes.

Yup, mine beeps constantly. It used to really annoy me, but I eventually got so used to it that I don't really hear it anymore.

I haven't noticed any such sounds from my MT-24 unit.

I wonder if it matters what AA batteries you are using?
