It didnt hurt anything... pretty normal, but I live in Wyoming where the wind blows 90mph every day... lol. Anyhow, I dont think anything is abnormal about the landing. It happens.

It is normal for the wheels to hang down at an angle before they touch the ground. This difference just shows how far the plane was leaning over when it touched down.

ah i see.

Yes that is normal. When the gear is not touching the ground they hang at a degree. The thought behind this is to provide greater forgiveness upon touchdown, the gear will then "flatten" out with the ground once full contact has been made.

It looks like open ditches aren't a good idea at airports.

Oh Scott, you found the carpark

Nice shot, these happen everyday and makes me wonder what they're on. It's unfortunate about the heat haze over summer. It's a great location to spot in a cool winters day, but in summer, the heat from 3 strips of runway/taxiway just kill phoots. :(

If you're out again, and see photographers, say hi.. They're all friendly.. And ask if they know me. They should all know me too, just don't say I told you about the place. (The others have a fear that the more people who find it, it will be locked down..) :p

Check out this one, same place, same angle of view (pretty much), shot 2 months ago.. But look at how the grass has gone all burnt out now!

Check out this one

Nice shot Wazza. I have been to this spot with Pete a couple of times, but they are doing upgrades on the second runway so it can handle the A380 at the moment and the trucks and diggers kept getting in the way. You are right about the heat haze too, I got another shot of the same plane after it had safely touched down that would have been pretty good if were not for the haze.

Thanks. Yeah the works going on at Bravo taxiway at the moment are a pain in the a&&

I only went there once around New Years, without a camera, saw the mess that was going on, and left. I've been reading it on the aviation forums I visit, about what's going on, and aviation photography friends emailing me, saying don't bother. :p

I'm not anyway at the moment, I have too much else on, and the results in winter are definately better. Especially for departures like the Emirates at 6pm or so, when it's around sunset time. With sunset at 8:40pm now, it's really bad. :p
