I have been contemplating on rebranding Kaizenzo Photography. The reason I used this name is because I named it after my two sons, Kaizen (which means continuously improve) and Enzo. Now that we have a third baby Zaryk, how am I going to incorporate that into this name? They are the reason why I got into photography. After some long thought, I decided to keep the name. Hooked up with a graphic designer, and with my vision and his design skills, we came up with this:

What y'all think?

A graphic designer came up with this? I don't like anything about it, especially the blade graphic.

Agreed. Hopefully he is your friend and you didn't pay for the logo.

Way too busy and a bit gaudy. The aperture blade graphic is overdone, especially considering your clients likely have no clue what it means. Plus it doesnt flow into the name. I hope you didnt pay for this.

Thanks for your comments. Anyway for me to improve on this? I happen to like the blade graphics and the negative type fonts. Yes, I paid him for it. Just like us photographers would like to be paid for our time. Most of the ideas were mine, he just executed on what I wanted. I would like to hear how I could make this better. I wanted the KEZ to be emphasized as it has meanings for me.

I like the idea....and the blades...maybe make them less in your face. And change the colours of the letters....bit crazy..

The colors actually represents RGB. The Z was changed to more cyan color because blue on black does not go well. The original was all white, but I wanted those letters to stand out to remind me how and why I got into photography and why I'm slowly turning this into a business. The blade was actually the same size as the letters originally as well and the Photography was just below. Then I wanted something more "catchy".

not kidding, it took me a probably good 5 minutes before i realized those pizza slices at the end was an "o" lol i was looking on your flicker at your old watermark and then was wondering why you changed your name when in your description on the forum said you left it the same (maybe i'm just a little slow this afternoon... haha)

however.. hate to say it but i agree with everyone else.. way too in your face, unless, you were a skateboard photographer.. thats the kind of vibe i'm getting with this logo... kind of looks like a big graffiti piece.. :)

Your logo isn't supposed to speak to you, it's supposed to speak to the kind of clients you want to attract.

IMO, Boring...
No offense but it's dull, if I would see a website logo like this I wouldn't enter the site or would exit it.
There are too many straight lines and basic ideas, looks like it's done in MSP.

Lol, no offense taking at any one's comments. I've asked for opinions and you graciously supplied it, and I thank you. Point taken.

One problem: nobody will read this logo as saying kaizenzo; they will see 'kaizenz' (and then perhaps on being told the aperture blade is a letter, they may belatedly say: 'oh'.).

The 'photography' falling off the right side of the aperture blades looks very unfinished.

The lens isn't circular.

Looks very... amateurish. I would scrap it. Did not even recognize the "o" until someone else pointed it out.

Looks like a pizza cutter. Maybe less colors. Smaller "O" (try same size as other letters) and get rid of the word "photography" since the O is smaller. I might also try compressing the space between the letters. Not sure but I feel like it will make the logo less busy.

Very admirable but it doesn't make for an easy company name.
Zarkaizo?

The logo is, frankly, terrible. The multicoloured lettering doesn't work, the last letter of photography is hanging out of the logo which looks very bad and the pizza bit is too big.
