I love the styling and plating of you recent shots but I just wish the entire image wasn't as busy as it is. My eyes seem to go in circles with no place to rest. And , please, don't be offended by my comment; I'm just an average photographer but this is how I feel :)

Version 1 owners who made the move to version II.... your thoughts about the lens...please?

I've owned V1 in the past, but when I made the jump to the 5D MKII, I had focus issues. I was unable to MA at two different focal lengths. and I ended up selling the lens.

I'm thinking of picking up this lens and giving zooms a try once again.

How well does the V2 perform compared to the V1? Any focus issues?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks, Hatch

The mkII is a superb lens..super sharp and fast AF..
I think it is one of the best lenses Canon makes and I would never part with mine..

I think it is a big difference.....this lens is SHARP all around/across, I think it focuses better/faster and the IS is much refined. I just upgraded from V1 to V2 and I am in love all over again. For what you can now get it for used, it is a steal......peruse the 2 threads for the 2 versions in the lens sample forum. It is easy to see the difference.

Thank you Brules for the info, I'll be sure to view the two threads.

I've seen some great shots. :)

I'm more interested in how the lens performs compared to V1. From what I've read so far, the lens is much improved over the first version. (great shots in this thread as well)

Thanks for the info.
