$1650 is still a great price... think about the people who spent $2500 when it first hit the market. They had the benefit of getting to use it longer than we did, I'm sure the premium price was well worth it. (not be a smart ass)

Definitely give Greentoe.com a try. I have the Sig 50 in the basket with an offer of $779... again... USA distributor...warranty..not grey market...etc. A lot cheaper than anywhere else I've been able to find it and still cheaper than the $200 B&H was knocking off the past couple of weeks.

I'll have my copy of this lens in a week and a half. Can't wait to get shooting with it. After using the 135L for the past 13 months, which my wife and I love and will probably remain one of our favorite, I definitely need some versatility, and this seems like it'll fit the bill! Can't wait to start contributing.
