Hi everyone,

Very recently i discovered lightroom 4, and here are some of my results. They are made at the Edinburgh Fringe festival last years September.

Both were very dark before post processing, and not particularly sharp. Both were shot with Canon t2i, Tamron 10-24mm wide angle lens.

Please let met know what you think off them :)

On your Flickr photo, click on share, then grab the BBCode, pick your size, copy and paste directly into your message here. Most people won't follow your link back to Flickr.

Definitely a blue color cast in the shadowed areas where the people are. I would say give it another go. Both images need to be straightened/leveled as well.

@ Porky, i used a preset called 'sharpening', and i tweaked the tone and colors a bit.

@madwrench, thanks for the feedback! Straightening/leveling is something i'm kinda trying
to master. same goes for color management ;)

I'm deff gonna try it again, will post the results here when i'm done.

One trick for leveling: near the center, get one of the vertical sides of a window frame to be parallel with the grid lines.

I agree on the color temp, just slide it to the right a bit. Shouldn't hurt your sky. You could also graduate it from bottom to top so most of the color change happens down low.

Allright, I changed the tone for the first one. looking back at it, it seemed a rather obvious move when i compared it with the old one! I also changed the leveling, but i'm not sure how that worked out.. Would love to hear it from you guys!

I think a bigger issue than the leveling is the perspective distortion. It may be as simple as checking the "lens profile" box in LR.

quite nice! And yes, check for your lens profile and have LR fix it, it'll keep the buildings from falling off to the sides. Tricky light conditions, I think you got some nice shots there!

40D, 5D3, a bunch of lenses and other things

In the second pic, you might want to try cropping the left edge so the partial store sign is removed and the right edge to remove the hillside. I think that would improve the image by focusing attention to the people and the architecture.
