Awesome shot of a beautiful critter. And yes, if chipmunks are out it is definitely premature. It's supposed to be spring and we're in the midst of the worst winter storm of the year in SW MN.

Spring is just hitting here on long island. I love looking at this photo. I just found a working fox den. Can't wait to set up a blind and camp out at it soon in hopes of getting something like your shot.

Thanks, Phil. This is the only shot of this red fox I got. Mainly I shoot birds, mammals being so hard to find, but I have posted a bobcat, a couple otter, and a gray wolf, all shot in the wild, on this forum previously.

Wow Al, I don't know how this one almost snuck by me!
What a beautiful capture and a fox that looks pretty darn healthy for late winter. The fur looks quite luxurious and the eye contact is priceless. Our foxes don't look anything near as pretty as this one.

That's Amazing (capital A). Love to see the 'fox' around here, but never as fortunate to get such a great shot... Hopefully one day..........

Thanks, Steve; I've gotten a couple other fox shots later in the season and they can get to look pretty bedraggled.

I've seen one roaming our backyard as well, but he is too elusive to be photographed and I've never been lucky enough to have my gear ready. This is an awesome shot, well done.
