Most of the shots I convert to B&W I know when I am taking them so I look for the type of light I want. It makes it easier and eliminates a lot of PP. It was pretty tough for me to work with such a small file as well. There are some really great Photoshop artists hanging around. Someone is going to be able to point you in the right direction.
