My long lens technique is purdy crappy, but grabbed this at the bottom of my garden in Hungary this afternoon... Usually it is a lot drier than this and I know the regular visitors but this one is a new one on me, help much appreciated :)

I believe that it is a black-necked stilt. It must be a juvenile due to its lack of black in some areas. Of course I am not familiar with the birds over there, so it might be a different kind of stilt. Great photo!

I agree.
Black necked stilt.
but it is odd to not have black on the neck.

Thanks both, helped a lot :)

Managed to use the stilt "bit" to find it, apparently a Black Winged Stilt, thanks again, I wish I could have got closer as they did not seemed massively bothered by me but I would have needed waders as the field is more than a little flooded :(
