I'm flying from San Jose to Seattle and the tripod is a gitzo 2541. We're only going for two days. In the past I've always put my tripod in checked baggage.
Thanks
.

Honolulu to San Fran, Seattle, Portland, Vegas, New York, etc. Once TSA made me pour out my flask of Jack Daniels but they don't give a hoot about tripods as long as they in the overhead or under your seat. Starting 4/25 TSA will let you carry a folding pocket knife as long as the blade doesn't exceed 2.36." Not sure where they got that number but all my pocket knives are slightly too long... And, no, it doesn't let me carry my Swiss Army Knife. Jon

thanks for the responses guys. I don't see any reason to pay $20 a bag each way to check luggage when we're only doing a flyby http://instagram.com/edraderphotography/
