SuzyView Cream of the Crop More info | Jan 16, 2006 07:38 | #5 WELCOME! Got to saturate a little with contrast and maybe USM. But I agree about rotating it just a little to get the horizontal right. That helps with perspective. Keep working at it. To have such a great camera at your age! Suzie - Still Speaking Canonese!

SuzyView Cream of the Crop More info | Jan 16, 2006 08:03 | #7 Sorry, it is short for UNSHARPMASK, if you have PhotoShop you go into "Sharpen" and it is about half way down the list. It is a tool that was used originally in film to make the lines that separate the colors sharper. Can't explain well in two seconds, but you can find a thread or two (or tons) about USM here. It basically helps you highlight the details of your shot that contrast alone can't do well. Some people here in the forum do such a great job with this tool, they won't post anything without at least trying it out. And if your shot is a not as sharp as you want, you can try unsharpmasking it. I know. The terminology will kill you, but it's definitely something you have to learn in digital photography. SuzyView Cream of the Crop More info | Jan 16, 2006 09:03 | #10 I like the tilt work, but the soft focus might not be what you are aiming for. The first shot was sharper. You have to decide what you want in focus. Is it the trees overhead? Is it the white van? Then work on that. Don't give up the good sharp focus for color. Suzie - Still Speaking Canonese!
