So the "ridges" were tines?
I showed the picture to my wife, who not having seen the item, immediately said it looked like something with "fingers". I felt therefore that it wasn't misleading.

With a bend or bends in it? The "hole" is a flat area to the left of the protruding reversed-C shape. Everything in the image is part of the object. Nogo wrote in post #18541026 Is that simply regular old hard plastic? Why I am asking is that it looks like Teflon. It's regular old hard plastic. I wasn't aware that Teflon induces chromatic aberration. dbs_jd wrote in post #18541035 Is that hole a handle? No. PRONOUN ADVISORY: OhLook is a she. | Comments welcome

If something goes "into or through" it, does that break the item? ?? Yes, the item would break. The area in the macro is a flat surface with the reversed-C curve as an elevated part.
