It is much less of a problem here in the South than it would be north of the Mason Dixon Line.

That term is only used in the South. Most people in the Midwest would be clueless.

Most likely only a person from the South would have a clue what the significance of that statement is anyway.

But for our members who are not familiar with the USA, that term in this case is just referring to areas that are much colder in the winter than it is here. . . Normally. (We are experiencing record setting cold this week for here. -12.8°C yesterday morning. It has also snowed twice this year. Very unusual for here.)

Shampoo sounds like an unfortunate name for a hair product.
You're a ghost driving a meat-coated skeleton made from stardust, riding a rock, hurtling through space. Fear Nothing!

The Mason-Dixon line was in my history classes in California.

Would the item limit the growth of vegetables by excluding sunlight or pollinators? (But flowers need sunlight, too; and you said near vegetables, not over them.)

This item can be used in a garden. Much more likely in a flower garden than one for raising vegetables, but it is not used for gardening.

No. If this item was used in a garden, it would likely be above everything but the tall bushes or the trees. It may or may not actually, be over them. As stated above its purpose is not to facilitate gardening.

So it's specific to garden nuisance maintenance?

As above, would vegetable gardeners avoid using this because it would exclude sunlight or pollinators?

No. It is way too small to exclude anything from a normal size plot in a garden.

Does the item contain materials other than the stuff in the macro?

The item itself is made of two materials. The composition of the two parts could be the same or may be different. I doubt going further into the composition of this item will help any more than what has already been determined.
