It has a plastic handle (in this case).

It is not anything to do with phones, mobile or otherwise, or any electronic device.

Is it primarily used indoors? And has the passing of time improved it's functionality? Meaning is there a better version of this now?

Shampoo sounds like an unfortunate name for a hair product.
You're a ghost driving a meat-coated skeleton made from stardust, riding a rock, hurtling through space. Fear Nothing!

In Tyre lever i was thinking bicycle, which would make the head half an inch or so wide. Is that about right?

Something pretty specialist? Upholstery...

It can be equally used indoors or outdoors, but I would imagine that it is used more inside - though I have no stats to prove that.

The design has not really changed in many years for this particular style, although there are many other designs which achieve the same result.

There will be newer designs I am sure, but this is really, really common.

the part shown is about 1/4 inch, I believe.

The thing it is used for opening is common both sides of the pond, and is not really specialist in that respect.

Exactly. A standard run of the mill bottle opener, well done :)

With the naked eye the thing looks clean and shiny :)

The part you are seeing is the lip that goes under the cap of the bottle.
